Panagiotis Mavrikos born 2 May 1974 was a Greek newspaper publisher. He was notable for being the publisher of the newspaper Akropoli.
Panagiotis Mavrikos was involved in the bribery scheme of Novartis on Greek Government officials.
The FBI established that Mavrikos was the “bridge” between Novartis and the Greek Government, had access to 4 Ministers of Health in Greece.
On 9 June 2016, Mavrikos mysteriously died from a fire inside his Porsche Cayenne when it was mysteriously engulfed in flames, without any collision. The publisher of the “Acropolis” newspaper, did not manage to get out of his car and was found charred by the firemen.
His wife, recognized his body from the valuables Panagiotis Mavrikos was wearing.
On October 9, 2019, from a car that was found submerged in the new pier of Drapetsona, Coast Guard divers recovered 2 bodies, allegedly belonging to the 75-year-old mother and the 53-year-old brother of the publisher Panagiotis Mavrikos, who was burned alive in June 2016 on Attiki Odos.
